“2nd ANNUAL RIVER CONCERT”
A Rock & Roll Tribute to Recovery
Recovery Along the River Foundation, Inc.
Neptune, NJ, May 14, 2014– The 2nd Annual “River Concert 2014,” sponsored by the Recovery Along the River Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1 p.m. The concert was developed last year to aid Shark River Hills residents who were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
“Last year’s event raised $50,000, which was distributed to Shark River Hills residents impacted by the storm,” said K.C. Dempsey, one of the event organizers and member of the board of directors for the Recovery Along the River Foundation. “This year we look forward to continuing to support those in our community who are still recovering from the storm.”
The emcee for this year’s event will be Rich Robinson, Shark River Hills resident and DJ for WBJB-FM (90.5 FM). New Jersey bands scheduled to perform include:
- Bell Bottom Blues Band (Eric Clapton Tribute Band)
- Highway 41 (Allman Brothers Tribute Band)
- Lemon Juice (Funky Fresh Progressive Jam Band) “Asbury Park Music Awards Best Band”
- Lone Ramblers (Blues & Classic Country Rock)
- SRH Hillbillies (Local Rock & Roll Performers headed up by Peter Schulle of Holme)
- Glycerine Queens (Glam Rock Girls Band)
- Joe Riccardello (Rock)
“We’re excited to host the 2nd Annual River Concert to not only showcase our local talent, but also to let area residents see the progress that has been made in Shark River Hills since the storm as well as the work that still remains,” said Terri Garifine, one of the event organizers and also a member of the board of directors for the Recovery Along the River Foundation.
The event will be held rain or shine at the Shark River Hills Municipal Marina located at 149 South Riverside Drive, Neptune, N.J.
The concert entrance fee is $25 per person for those 13 and over; $10 for those 6 to 12 years of age. All ticket holders will receive a “River Concert 2014” event mug. Those 21 years and older will receive an event bracelet for limited beer and wine. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available for those under 21. Food will be available for purchase from local vendors; Brandl’s and 10th Avenue Burrito, as well as promotional items including “River Concert 2014” tee shirts.
